Character history: Xander Harris was brought in an alcoholic family, his parents made a habbit of getting drunk and having loud obnoxious fights over nothing in particular. The only way Xander got through these times was with the help of his best friend Willow Rosenburg. Over time Willow developed a crush on Xander without him really noticing. In their Sophmore year at Sunnydale high a new girl came to town by the name of Buffy Summers, he later discovers that she is the slayer and him and Willow eventually come along side Buffy when fighting demons. Along the way in their graduating year at high school Xander goes on to meet the love of his life Anya (former vengeance demon). When all his friends go to college he stays home and gets a job on a building site. The next year Xander asks Anya to marry him but when it comes to the time of their wedding, his doubts get the better of him and he leaves Anya at the alter. The next year Xander realises that this was a mistake and that he is still in love with Anya, but he realises this too late because when the apoclypse is upon them Anya suffers at the hands of the first and doesn’t survive the battle. After the battle Xander fled.

Everybody thought that Xander had gone, and for a time he had. After that last battle, Xander had caught the first plane to Germany. He had stayed there for three months then decided he needed a new scene. For years he would visit one place live there for a time (a couple of months depending on how much he liked it there), but that time was over.
About a year ago he started looking at old photos, photos of him and his friends from Sunnydale. Xander had been the only one of his friends not to answer phone calls or sent out emails telling people where he was or what he’d been up to. But when he saw the pictures they made him want to see his friends again. He looked through his piles of letters and his packed inbox to see where each of his friends were, The last email he had gotten had been from Faith in LA, she had talked about the sun and Angel… Angel he missed that big, ugly vampire. He looked for Willow first he read the first email she’d ever sent him and realised he had missed a lot. Willow was in Tibet so the next morning he packed up his laptop and various other items and flew to Tibet. He stopped off at a super-market to get some food and there in aisle six was Willow, speaking animatedly to Oz in her cute willow voice, he felt a hot tear running down his face… and he walked away. He did this at every place that his friends lived in, seeing them but not making his presence known.
The last place he visited was LA; he thought he was mad because he was even looking forward to seeing Captain Forehead. The journey to America took five hours, and when he finally arrived he realised that he had forgotten where Angel lived, so he thought he’d leave it for another day. Xander is an optimistic guy so he went and asked a random person where the nearest Motel was. “Round the corner and up my ass” the guy said, so Xander checked a map. He arrived at the Motel at eleven o’clock in the morning and he pulled his bag into the lobby. Xander noticed a bleach blonde head and laughed to himself, he may have missed Captain Forehead but Captain Peroxide… not so much. As he turned to check in at the front desk, he heard a familiar, Buffy-like voice exclaim “Xander!” he turned his head…
